Mixpanel is what we use the most. With it, we can look at the various usage of our app features.
For iOS, we use Crashlytics. It works great with our mobile app.
Mode Analytics works well more for the engineering side. You can run queries against your data and return meaningful insights.
Intercom is really good, but I would add one feature: to get more info about the person who signed up, ideally pulled from a platform like LinkedIn, to get a sense of the person’s job title, industry, company, etc.
Streak is awesome because it integrates with Gmail. With it, we can personalize email blasts with tags, the person name, etc. It is a good way to scale your emailing.
We use Slack for all of our communication. We are pretty active on it. It is great for sharing files. If you paste a Dropbox link, the receiver can check it on the spot. It is great for people that are travelling or working remotely. It is a lot easier than copying and pasting a link in an email.
UserVoice is where we gain insights from our customers. We have our articles there, our tutorials, and it’s a place where people can request features. You can mark them as complete when they are done and everyone gets notified. We chose it because the ideas of our clients are very important to us.
We use Intercom for marketing, client retention, and major announcements. With Intercom, you can make announcements inside the app, it does not need to be an email. It could just be a sidebar or a popup on your app. It’s hooked up with our product, so we have everything segmented and we can send out personalized emails. This is good for us as we try to avoid spamming people with mass emails.
We thought to use an independent broker for things like benefits, because we had someone who had a lot of the right relationships in place so it was more seamless for us to just go with them.
Boomerang integrates well with Gmail. You do not want your emails to get buried on your inbox - so Boomerang allows you to activate a snooze function on the emails that you have to reply to, if you want to do it at a later time. If I send you an email and I want to make sure you respond, I can set up a reminder to check on it later.
